Treepocalypse Description

Treepocalypse is a fast-paced roguelike top-down shooter with extraction mechanics. Players raid irradiated zones to recover precious seeds, fight mutant creatures, and race the oxygen clock to reach the bunker and extract, die before extraction and you lose your seeds.

Key Pitch

Raid dangerous zones, collect seeds, and rebuild a world where trees are nearly extinct. Every run is high-stakes: meet the daily quota, return to the bunker, and bank your gains, otherwise they’re lost.

Features

  • Fast top-down shooting with mouse aiming and responsive WASD movement.
  • Extraction economy: collect seeds as currency, meet a daily quota, and bank excess for upgrades.
  • Oxygen survival timer: runs are limited by oxygen, upgradeable at the hub.
  • Weapon variety: Pistol, Uzi, Shotgun, Rifle, Sniper, each with distinct stats and playstyles.
  • Hub farming: buy soil plots, plant seeds, and grow trees that yield renewable seeds across sessions.
  • Roguelike progression: banked seeds unlock permanent upgrades (health, oxygen, damage, magazine).

Controls

  • WASD — Move
  • Left Click — Shoot
  • R — Reload
  • Space — Dash
  • E — Interact / Plant / Enter Bunker

Gameplay Loop

  1. Gear up in the hub, buy upgrades or soil plots.
  2. Enter a run, fight waves of mutants, and collect seeds.
  3. Beat the daily quota and return to the bunker to extract and bank seeds.
  4. Spend banked seeds on upgrades and expand your soil plots to grow a steady seed income.

Why Play

  • Tight, arcade-style shooting with meaningful risk vs. reward.
  • A unique seed-based economy that ties narrative and mechanics together.
  • Short, tense runs that reward skillful play and smart extraction decisions.
  • Persistent hub progression and a small farming system to support long-term growth.
